Bishop Mark Lawrence has invited our Charleston-area church members and clergy to an evening event at the Cathedral downtown, where he will address the current legal situation of the Diocese, and set a renewed vision for proclaiming the Good News in our communities.
You are encouraged to attend as you are able and have interest. If you are planning to attend, feel free to contact The Rev. Trevor Spencer (TREVOR@HOLYCROSS.NET) so that we might be able to sit together at the Cathedral.

The first priority of the Church is always proclamation of the Good News of Jesus Christ; in all the manifold ways the Body of Christ accomplishes that task together.
There are many obstacles, however, that can disrupt the mission of the Church and distract us from our primary task. These events drain away our energy and negatively impact our missionary effectiveness.
Bishop Mark Lawrence will be leading gatherings at five locations around the Diocese at which he will speak to some of the current events that sap our strength, answer questions and reflect on how to re-focus and build a Kingdom and Gospel mindset. All clergy and laity are invited to the gatherings. (Diocese of South Carolina)
Helpful Resources
Among the current challenges to mission for some is the promotion of congregational division by TEC and its local advocates. Helpful resources in the meantime we encourage for your use are Why The Battle, Litigation Facts and the witness of the Rev. Matt and Anne Kennedy to their experience with Bp. Adams at Good Shepherd, Binghamton. (The transcript of the interview is available as well. ) All are helpful tools and useful background to the coming conversations with the Bishop.
