SERMONS

Missed one of our Sunday Services? That's OK! We record our sermons given at Sullivan's Island and Daniel Island, and upload them on Mondays. Click the button to access sermons you have missed.

WEDDINGS

We are honored and pleased that you are interested in being married at Holy Cross.  We want your wedding to be a significant and happy occasion for you, your families and your guests. At Holy Cross, we believe that “Christian marriage is a solemn and public covenant between a man and a woman in the presence of God” (Book of Common Prayer, page 422) and desire to do all we can to help you prepare for a prayerful and meaningful celebration. Our wedding ceremonies follow the liturgy for the Celebration and Blessing of a Marriage from the Book of Common Prayer (pages 423-432), which includes scripture readings, prayers and exchange of vows. The service may also include a homily and the celebration of the Holy Eucharist.

Premarital counseling is required of all couples wishing to be married at Holy Cross.  This counseling covers many topics of interest to a couple entering into marriage, and is helpful for preparing a strong and lasting marriage.

Please do not make plans, especially those which involve any expense to you, until you have gained permission to have your marriage ceremony at Church of the Holy Cross. For more information, please our wedding coordinator.  She will assist you with your questions, guidelines for the service, fee schedule and setting a date on the church calendar.

Baptisms

There is one Body and one Spirit;

There is one hope in God’s call to us;

One Lord, one Faith, one Baptism;

One God and Father of all.

Baptism is a sacred sacrament of admission and adoption into the Kingdom of God. Any who desire to become a baptized Christian are welcome to talk to one of our priests about that and the meaning of Baptism. For an infant, the promises of baptism are made and carried out by the parents and sponsors who promise to bring up the child in the Church and who themselves follow Jesus Christ. If you are a parent and would like to have your child baptized, please contact the church office.  They can assist you with your questions as well as help you with scheduling a date for the baptism and the Pre-Baptismal Counseling session.

The Sacrament of Holy Baptism is celebrated during our Sunday morning Communion services, and available at any of our locations. Each candidate for Holy Baptism should be sponsored by one or more baptized persons. Baptisms are offered at all communion services on specified dates.  Go to our events page at holycross.net/events to see upcoming baptism dates.
