Toiletries Drive for KAIROS Ministry

Help us collect items for our KAIROS partners serving in the Lieber Correctional Facility and drop them at either campus.

Join us in filling up the bins on Daniel and Sullivan’s Island and praying that these inmates and all who see these gifts would come into the saving embrace of Jesus Christ. Here’s the list again for our ministry to inmates:

  • Shampoo

  • Soap

  • Body Wash

  • Tooth Paste

  • Tooth Brushes

  • Deodorant

  • Reading Glasses

One of Holy Cross’ five vision points is to “go out” in mission. Jesus sends his disciples out to “bring those” who do know him to know and love him. We’ve seen this recently in our sermon on Luke 10 when Jesus sends out the disciples to minister in his name. We see this in the Great Commission when he tells the disciples to go and make disciples of essentially everyone. And we see how we can do this when Jesus in Matthew 25:44-45 explains that when we care for the hungry, the stranger, needy or sick, we do it for him. Jesus cares for these and he wants us to reach our hands out to do the same.

I have had to resist the urge lately to solely focus on my safety and health. This is a danger that comes from being socially distant and isolated. Of course God wants us to be safe and healthy but he also wants us to reach out in love to the world. How do we do that when we are distant, and in many ways, for health concerns opportunities to care for others are scarce? Even in the midst of a pandemic, even as we are health conscious, we are still called to serve Jesus.

Holy Cross Member Paul Cooper has one such way you can look beyond yourself and lead others to know and love Jesus. Check it out!

Take a picture of you or your family as you do and send it to me (Trevor@holycross.net) so that we can give thanks together.
