Come join the Holy Cross men from all three campuses on Christmas Eve morning from 8:00 AM to 12:00 noon at the Holy Cross Sullivan’s Island campus to fry turkeys for those in need in the East Cooper area.

Why? To be the hands and feet of Jesus this Christmas by providing some of those less fortunate than us with a fried turkey for Christmas dinner, with love from Holy Cross Church.

Who can help?  Everyone!  If you have kids bring them along but there is no official child care so you’re responsible for keeping your kids safe.  Got family in town? Bring them along to introduce them to your Holy Cross church family and have some great fellowship time as you kick off a joyful Christmas celebration in style!

Who are we serving?  This year we will be making the turkeys for families in the East Cooper area through ECCO (East Cooper Community Outreach) and families within the greater Charleston area through the Humanities Foundation.  Each family will receive a fully fried turkey that’s wrapped and ready for Christmas dinner!

Why?  To be the hands and feet of Jesus this Christmas by providing some of those less fortunate than us with a fried turkey for Christmas dinner, with love from Holy Cross Church.

HOW CAN I HELP? Our objective is to fry 50-60 turkeys so we’ll need plenty of help. Here’s what we need:

  • At least 10 men who own a complete turkey frying set up to be on our cooking team. Our hope is that we’ll have at least ten turkey frying stations cooking until we’re done at noon.

  • We also need 8-10 people to prep the thawed turkeys for frying and to wrap the fried turkeys for delivery, etc.

  • Each person on the “prep crew” is also being asked to bring with you two 11-12 lbs. “THAWED” turkeys for cooking.

  • Can’t join us on Christmas Eve morning but you’d like to donate a 11-12 lb. “THAWED” turkey(s)? Please drop your turkey(s) off to us at Holy Cross Sullivan’s Island between 8:00-9:00 AM Christmas Eve morning since we don’t have a place to store donated turkeys.
